Sequoya & Shaquan's Garden Estate Wedding at The Secret Garden at Paradise Spring

Sequoya & Shaquan's Garden Estate Wedding at The Secret Garden at Paradise Spring

On August 8, 2026, we traveled from South Florida up to Lithia, in the FishHawk area southeast of Tampa, to photograph Sequoya and Shaquan's wedding at The Secret Garden at Paradise Spring. The 32-acre private estate brought together everything we love about a garden wedding: grand old oak trees, lush green lawns, a white Mediterranean villa and floral arches overflowing with white and dusty blue blooms. Here's how the day unfolded through our lens.

Getting Ready

We started with Sequoya's details, styled against a soft dusty blue backdrop: lace pointed-toe heels, her rings and earrings, a lace garter, perfume and a handwritten note. That blue showed up again and again throughout the day.

Shaquan was all smiles in a navy suit and white bow tie, standing under a white arched portico with the trees behind him. He looked relaxed and ready.

Inside, one of Sequoya's attendants knelt to arrange her long veil and train across the floor. It's a quiet, behind-the-scenes moment we always look for. Then Sequoya stood by an arched window in her off-the-shoulder gown, holding a bouquet of white roses and soft blue blooms, the natural light falling across her face.

The Ceremony

From above, you can see how special this property is: the white villa with its terracotta roof, the long circular drive and acres of green lawn and trees.

The ceremony was set beneath towering oak trees, with an aisle lined in clear chairs and full clusters of white and dusty blue flowers leading up to the floral arch. Before guests arrived, the space looked like something out of a storybook.

Then guests stood as Sequoya made her way down that flower-lined aisle under the oaks, her veil trailing behind her. It was a beautiful moment in a beautiful setting.

The Wedding Party and Portraits

After the ceremony, the full wedding party gathered under the floral arch. The bridesmaids wore pale blue, the groomsmen wore navy suits to match Shaquan, and the colors fit right in with the flowers.

Sequoya's bridesmaids surrounded her on the steps beneath the towering floral columns, every shade of blue picking up the blooms around them.

For the couple's portraits, we stayed close to those white and blue florals. Sequoya and Shaquan leaned in cheek to cheek, and you can feel how comfortable they are with each other. Then we let Sequoya's veil catch the air for a dreamy, flowing frame as she smiled back over her shoulder.

We ended with one of our favorite photos of the day. Sequoya and Shaquan stood together on the balcony of the white Mediterranean villa, framed by its arched doorway and terracotta roof. It was the perfect way to show off the estate that made their day so memorable.

Sequoya and Shaquan, thank you for bringing us along to Tampa Bay and trusting us with your day. It was an honor to tell your story.

Planning a Destination Wedding at Paradise Spring? Photography Tips

- Share your timeline and venue map early. When your photographer is traveling in, a detailed timeline and a map of the grounds help them plan portrait spots before the day.
- Use the whole estate. The oaks, the floral ceremony arch, the lawns and the villa balcony each give a different look. Build a dedicated portrait window into your timeline so you can visit more than one.
- Photograph the ceremony space before guests arrive. Ask for a few minutes in the finished ceremony area so your florals and setup are captured untouched.
- Plan for summer weather. August afternoons in Tampa Bay can be hot, with storms that pop up quickly. Keep portrait sessions short, use the shade under the oaks, and talk through a rain plan with your photographer.
- Aim for late afternoon. Schedule couple portraits for later in the afternoon when you can, so the light is softer.
